At Cline Design, we have worked with contractors, architects, and subcontractors from across North America for nearly three decades. For many of the services we deliver (website creation and implementation, blogs, newsletters, brochures, project profiles, RFQs, etc.), we rely upon our clients to supply us with photography. Transforming communities and improving lives is a continual goal in our work, and it can only be accomplished by carefully balancing all of our clients’ considerations.

Competing in the Marketing category, Tia qualified for Internationals three years in a row. DECA gave Tia the opportunity to meet two New Hampshire governors – Maggie Hassan and Chris Sununu. In her free time, Tia enjoys helping at her mother’s café, spending time at the lake, and hanging out with friends. Brianna, who started at Cline Design roughly the same time as me, is a graphic design queen.

She taught me the importance of communication with clients and being prepared. Whether it is a computer, printer, or web problem, he knows how to fix it. He shared many valuable stories and life lessons that I will always remember. I won’t lie, it is difficult to put into words the impact of my internship at Cline Design. When I first met Lorraine, Corinne, and Meredith at the University of New Hampshire Career Fair, I never imagined that interaction turning into the opportunity and experience I’ve had.
In 1988, Cline Design was founded to provide advertising and graphic design services for small-to-medium businesses. As technology and marketing strategies changed, so did we. Barrett King is our Senior Channel Account Manager and Growth Strategist from HubSpot. He is Cline Design’s primary resource at HubSpot and serves as a constant sounding board for the company’s ideas and goals.
From the first few clicks on the computer screen to construction, she works with every stakeholder across an organization to bring their vision to life. Generation Y has a global perspective, understanding that their responsibilities extend past just the business they work for. Thus, business should aim to generate profits and help society. Millennials want no part of the stereotypical “greedy” business world—they want to be a part of a company that actively seeks to improve the world. To attract the future leaders of Generation Y, businesses leaders must become social entrepreneurs that serve altruistic purposes in addition to creating profits. Cline Design is dedicated to transforming communities through innovative design and the integration of architecture, planning, landscape architecture, and interior design.
Tia is a sophomore undergraduate student at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire. She is currently pursuing a Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing at the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics. In addition to her studies, Tia is very involved in the UNH Phonaton program. The Phonathon works to raise private support funds for the university through phone calls with alumni, parents, and friends. Tia was recently promoted to the Student Leader Position for all the hard work she does with this organization! In high school, Tia served as a two-time association officer for New Hampshire DECA.
Social entrepreneurs are one special breed of leader, and they should be recognized as such. This definition preserves their distinctive status and assures that social entrepreneurship is not treated lightly. We need social entrepreneurs to help us find new avenues toward social improvement as we enter the next century. In today’s globalized world, the definition of “stakeholder” now has been enlarged to include millions of people throughout the planet through social entrepreneurship. When shareholders think only of themselves and their desires for more and more profits, they often forget the affects that their business practices have on a humanitarian level. Then, business activity can become unethical at best (Goldman Sachs allegedly not telling investors that the company had taken a short position on a CDO that it was pitching) or illegal at worst (Enron).
